Sonakshi Sinha is set to make her OTT debut in the Amazon Prime Video series, Dahaad, which follows the investigation of sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati into the abduction and murders of 27 missing women. In the teaser trailer, we get a glimpse of the dark and gritty world created by director Reema Kagti and writer Ruchika Oberoi.
The one-minute-nine-second teaser showcases Sonakshi’s character as an imposing, focused, and fearless cop on a mission to hunt down the killers of the women. Alongside Sonakshi, the series also features Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles.
Set in a small town, the eight-part crime drama follows Sonakshi and Gulshan Devaiah’s character, who also plays a cop, as they investigate the mystery behind several women found dead in public bathrooms. Initially believed to be suicide, it soon turns out to be a serial killer mystery, with Sonakshi’s Anjali getting caught in a cat-and-mouse chase with a seasoned killer on the loose.
Dahaad premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival in Germany on February 22, 2023, and has already generated a lot of buzz in the industry. The teaser trailer is set to be released on May 3, 2023, and the series will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from May 12, 2023.
